IT Capacity Planner, Sr. jobs in Ohio
IT Capacity Planner, Sr. evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner, Sr. may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. ** Will be required to be full time onsite (5 days a week) at 1980 West Broad St, Columbus.
Requirement Description:
The candidate will be supporting The Ohio Department of Transportation s (ODOT) Asset Management Team.
This position will function as a skilled PS2 within the Department of Information Technology responsible for tracking, updating, and movement of Information Technology desktop and network assets.
Specific responsibilities:
- Updating meta-data required for asset management.
- Add newly acquired assets to the system.
- Reassignment of assets, based on ServiceNow incident tickets.
- Coordinated and organizing disposal of ODOT s computer and networking outdated equipment.
- Maintaining organization of working area.
- Append asset tags to newly acquired equipment.
- Reporting from the Asset management system to aid in biennium reconciliation
- Mobile AV support
- Unpackaging and movement of equipment.
- Follow quality standards.
- Analytical and customer service skills.
- Communicate accurate and useful status updates.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Complete assigned tasks.
- Strong communication skills; both written and spoken
