JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catholic Religious Education Coordinator to manage and oversee a comprehensive Catholic Religious Education program at Shaw Air Force Base, SC. The coordinator will work closely with the Catholic Chaplain to develop and implement religious education programs, ensure compliance with Air Force policies, and coordinate events for children and adults.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

• Develop and track a 10-month calendar of RE events, including teacher training sessions.
• Organize Sacramental Programs, including Confirmation and First Communion retreats.
• Provide a 4-5 day Catholic Camp during the summer.
• Perform administrative tasks, such as preparing publicity materials, updating REC continuity files, and tracking attendance.
• Ensure volunteers/teachers have completed background checks.
• Be present for a minimum of 2 hours during all RE classes on Sundays.

SCHEDULE OF WORK

• No more than 20 hours of work per week, including weekday office hours.
• Flexible scheduling in collaboration with the Catholic Chaplain.

PLACE OF PERFORMANCE

• Primary location: 433 Shaw, building 912, Shaw AFB, SC.
• Education opportunities primarily at Spratt Education Center Building 501 or other designated locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in education or minimum of two years’ experience as a Director of Religious Education/Religious Education Coordinator.
• Active, practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
• Knowledge of military protocol or willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work unsupervised and maintain professional conduct.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse environment.
