Overview:
The role of an IRA Specialist is to support all areas within the credit union completing back-office functions listed below for Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) including Traditional, Roth & SEPs and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) in DNA (core) and Ascensus.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintain an awareness of changes in IRA/HSA regulations
- Maintain the responsibility for educating team members in retirement accounts
- Ensure that all critical functions related to IRA/HSA are processed in adherence to internal policies, procedures, regulatory requirements
- Disseminates information to management and employees regarding compliance or issues related to IRA/HSA accounts.
- Build and maintain internal relationships throughout the Credit Union by providing exceptional member service, models excellent internal and external member service
- Verify IRA/HSA forms submitted by team members
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Assist management with audits, risk assessments, policies, procedures, and processes
- Review and archive deceased account record and communicate with team members involved
- Monitor and review reports, complete service requests and perform routine account/member maintenance
- Complete assigned training sessions/courses
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2 or more years of credit union or banking experience which includes knowledge of Individual Retirement Account (IRA) expertise required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations associated with this position
- Must be able to speak and understand fluent English
