Investment Specialist analyzes and researches financial markets, securities, and investment products to assess risks, evaluate potential returns, and make informed investment decisions for an organization. Collects and researches economic data, financial metrics, and market conditions to develop and build financial models, forecasts, and investment strategies. Being an Investment Specialist monitors and analyzes portfolio performance, asset allocation, and risk exposure to ensure alignment with the organization's investment objectives, strategies, and risk tolerance levels. Prepares investment reports and analyses on investment opportunities or strategies to identify trends and recommend actions for the organization. Additionally, Investment Specialist utilizes mathematical formulas and statistical analyses to identify potential or alternative investments and calculate and evaluate financial health, returns, and fair value of securities, assets, or other investments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Investment Specialist work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. JOB TITLE: Investment Specialist Trainee
LOCATION: Lincoln, RI
HOURS: Full-time
This role is responsible for phone-based service to relationship role where the representative is expected to take 20 to 30 inbound service calls daily to solve for financial needs. These individuals are trained on managed products, trading in self- directed accounts, chat functionality and 529 products over a 12-month timeframe. During these interactions with our clients, these individuals will have opportunities to deepen relationships by referring clients to specialized sales teams. The role acts as a central entry point into a fully licensed financial services career.Key Responsibilities:
- Identifies clients’ needs and find proper solutions to meet those needs by referring sales opportunities to specialist and sales teams
- Receives training through the licensing/study program, ultimately earning SIE, S7 and S66 certifications
- Focuses daily on service to sales with existing Merrill clients
- Provides exceptional client care, growing client relationships, and guiding clients with needs-based solutions that will support their financial goals
Successful Candidates will have:
- 1 years of customer/client service experience, including experience handling difficult client situations.
- 1 years of experience in the banking/financial industry.
