    As the investment portfolio Sr. Manager, you will assist in management of a portfolio within the investment office. This role is designed to provide enhanced opportunity and responsibility. As the candidate grows within the role, will begin with Portfolio reporting and analytics before transitioning to a trading and analytics role through time.

    The Initial Primary Roles Responsibilities Include

    • Reporting & Analytics:
      • Development and continued enhancement of month and quarter end reporting that supports ALCO, Board-level, and Investor Relations preparation and presentations
      • Development of dashboards supporting the Investment Portfolio, Institutional Hedging, and MSR Hedging on a daily basis that show exposures, statistical analysis, and relation to underlying market data
      • Daily economic and market surveillance and intelligence that is broadly communicated
    • Model Support: Assess, develop, and/or refine desk and production-based models (BlackRock Analytics) to support the team’s pre-trade analysis and macroeconomic environment evaluation. Utilize desk models to analyze relative value, relation to macro-economic factors, scenario analysis, and hedging strategies, communicating and supporting market thesis’s
    • Forecasting: Support for the BAU and stress testing/CCAR forecasting processes associated with the securities and derivatives portfolios.
    • Miscellaneous: Actively promote change within the Investment Portfolio, Derivatives and MSR Hedging group, communicate ideas succinctly to Portfolio Managers while working in a team environment, and other ad hoc projects as they arise.
    Responsibilities

    Following demonstration of understanding risk factors that drive the Investment Portfolio, Institutional Hedging, and MSR Hedging, the person will begin learning to apply concepts learned from the reporting, analytics, model support and building, and forecasting. Potential additional responsibilities would include:

    • Trade Execution: support for the MSR, Investment Portfolio, and Institutional Hedging portfolios across TBAs, interest rate swaps, interest rate options, futures, Agency MBS, CMBS, CMOs, and other Non Agency products
    • Driving Strategic Direction: Using an understanding of balance sheet risk factors and management goals that drive CFG performance, develop creative solutions to drive strategic direction of different team pillars or allocation decisions while factoring in macroeconomic and other factors.

    Qualifications

    • History of model development and/or expert level Microsoft excel skills, along with some coding experience (SQL, VBA, SAS, Python, R)
    • Interest in financial markets, bank balance sheets, and developing creative solutions to problems

    Education

    • Required - Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, math, statistics or another related topic
    • Progress towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designations

    Hours & Work Schedule

    • Hours per Week: 40
    • Work Schedule: Hybrid, M-F
