Job Summary
Under the direction and in collaboration with the Lead Interior Designer, design and maintain a professional and inspiring learning environment for students, staff, and faculty at all College sites. Coordinate with the College Architect and outside architectural firms on new buildings and remodel projects to ensure college standards are met. Support project managers regarding furnishings, floor coverings, wall treatments and building finishes. Help coordinate purchasing, delivery, and installation of items as required. In coordination with the College Planning & Design team, assess space needs, space assignments, remodels, and refreshes to ensure end-user needs are met in accordance with College standards. Meet with customers to answer questions concerning working environments and needed changes, including accommodations. Provide solutions, furniture layouts, drawings, and cost estimates for interior design purchases. Maintain a samples library and finishes archive. Maintain and develop relationships with furniture vendors. Keep informed of products and trends. In coordination with the Furniture & Moving Coordinator assess condition of existing furniture inventory and reuse furniture when available and appropriate. Under direction of Lead Interior Designer and in collaboration with Design Project Manager, collaborate on carpet, roller shades, and furniture repairs and requests. Maintain an inventory of carpet for repairs. With direction from the Lead Interior Designer, work with the Design Project Manager, and Construction Project Managers to oversee layout, purchases, and installations of furniture and related items. Understand current pedagogical trends and ADA requirements.

- Collaborate with the Design Project Manager, oversee all carpet, roller shade, and furniture repairs and requests.

- Interact at a college wide level to improve facilities for students, staff, and faculty.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of office and classroom furniture.
- Ability to read and create floor plans and review furniture quotes.
- Be informed of developments in design trends and industry standards.
- Maintain clear and open communication.
- Must be adept at working with others, including architects, vendors, project managers, and design team to achieve high level performance in construction projects, remodels, occupancy moves, etc.
- Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point as well as current AutoCAD and other Autodesk Software including Revit.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
