Instructor - Sociology teaches courses in the discipline area of sociology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.   • Ohio Wesleyan University (www.owu.edu) is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and is located just 20 miles north of Columbus.

    The Department of Sociology/Anthropology at OWU is looking for a Part-time Instructor for Fall 2024:

    • The part-time instructor will teach Social Inequality (scheduled to be taught on Tuesdays/Thursdays 2:40-4:00).
    • If a candidate is interested, there will also be an opportunity to teach other upper-level electives in Spring 2025.

    The pay is $5,000 per course.

    At Ohio Wesleyan, a residential liberal arts institution, all classes are taught in an in-person, face-to-face setting. We do not offer online courses during spring and fall semesters.

    The ideal candidate will have at least a Master’s degree completed in Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field, and teaching experience at the college level.

    • Have your own office space for use when you’re on campus; and,
    • Receive a free parking pass that allows you to park anywhere on campus.
