Instructor - Philosophy teaches courses in the discipline area of philosophy. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Philosophy provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Philosophy typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Caldwell University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor, to teach Introduction to Philosophy. The course examines "the major branches of philosophy; the questions in the discipline as raised and answered by various schools of thought." We stress the use of primary sources in this course. The class will run in person on Wednesdays from 4:20 to 6:50 pm beginning the Fall semester, 2024. If this day and time is not convenient, we can consider other options.
Master Degree in Philosophy is required. Doctorate in Philosophy or related field is preferred. Prior teaching experience in a Philosophy program is preferred. Candidates must be willing to support the Dominican Catholic, liberal arts mission of the University.
