Pensacola Private School of Liberal Arts is seeking a teacher to join our school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for knowledge and understand that every child possesses intrinsic worth and dignity as a person. This existential fact demands a curriculum broad enough to allow the student experiences, through education, that behold a whole view of life and encourage in-depth factual pursuits for developing lifelong learners. We believe that quality education helps the student acquire the insights to know from whence they come—and where they are going, thus inspiring young individuals to think critically and perceive their role within the ever-evolving human experience. SoLA offers a rigorous writing emphasis program and has a shortened school day, 8 am to 1 pm, with four nine-week long units, with only one to three classes per unit.

Hours

School Year - August 6th - May 23rd (with breaks between units)

• Monday - Thursday 7:30 am - 2 pm
• Friday 7:30 am - 1 pm

Inservice & PD hours vary by year.

Primary Duties:

• Create an engaging student centered classroom
• Guide students through the creation of deliverables (research papers, presentations, films, etc.)
• Establish an environment of respect and understanding
• Create and assess assignments that promote equity among diverse student populations

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/college
• Experience working with an educational setting is preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 33 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
