    Position Summary

    This position serves an integral role in working collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, and academic groups in institutional research and effectiveness. The role includes supporting internal and external data reporting, strategic planning, leading survey research, accreditation participation, defining, executing, and supporting procedures and processes, compliance policy, and creating data analyses that demonstrate college performance and respond to environmental issues.

    Qualifications Education And Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, mathematics, business administration, or related field; AND (2) TWO years professional experience in higher education preferred in a role involving data analysis, research, and planning; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    • In collaboration with the Director of Institutional Research & Compliance, develops, implements, and manages plans for information sharing and data dissemination through different data visualization tools and communication channels.
    • Collect, analyze, report, and present quantitative and non-quantitative information, such as that required of IPEDS, U.S. News, and College Board, to state, federal, and regional regulators and accreditors, demonstrating the attainment of the College's strategic directions.
    • Develops relevant, timely, and accurate institutional information for administrators, the college community, the external community, and external agencies. Presents findings of analyses and research to various College constituencies.
    • Researches, develops, and recommends policy analyses relevant to anticipated institutional planning, policy, and decision-making needs.
    • Provide institutional expertise on survey design, execution, analysis, and presentation of results. Manages surveys, questionnaires, and other data-gathering instruments administered by the Office and works with external vendors as appropriate.
    • Actively participates in accreditation efforts; directly supports programmatic and compliance activities and requirements.
    • Responds to ad hoc requests, assisting individual divisions and offices in identifying, collecting, maintaining, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data in response to ongoing compliance needs.
    • Identify and leverage opportunities to continually improve the quality of data management systems, processes, and standards.
    • Perform other duties, such as representing the Office at meetings, conferences, institutional committees, and collaboration with peer institutions.
    • Prepares and directs the preparation of various written correspondence, reports, procedures, and other materials.
    • Monitors and interprets developments in the field of research and assessment; evaluates their impact on College activities; and develops and implements policy and procedural recommendations.
    • Collaborate to help assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic plans, aligning data analysis and institutional research with long-term objectives to enhance institutional effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

    Knowledge and Skills Required Knowledge of:

    • Expertise in a range of quantitative and non-quantitative research methods, such as data extraction, manipulation, and visualization.
    • Microsoft Office package, Structured Query Language (SQL), IBM Cognos reporting/dashboarding, and statistical software or similar tools appropriate to institutional research.
    • Experience in understanding warehouse design, business requirements, and data modeling concepts.
    • Administrative principles and practices, including goal setting, evaluation, and project management.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    Preferred Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of structures and priorities in higher education with specific attention to the private sector.
    • Background of policy research and accreditation and state licensing activities in higher education; applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
    • Department and college policies, procedures, practices and functions, and operational requirements of college entities.

    Skill in:

    • Time management, problem-solving, critical thinking, organizational, and written and interpersonal communication.
    • Planning, organizing, and administering research and analysis projects.
    • Training others in policies and procedures related to the work.
    • Developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards.
    • Performing professional-level analytical and programmatic work in a variety of areas and disciplines.
    • Carrying assigned analytical projects through, from data gathering to completion.
    • Using initiative and independent judgment within general policy guidelines.
    • Preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
    • Working with minimal supervision and managing multiple priorities and demands.
    • Collaborating across the organization to accomplish team, division, and college goals, objectives, and activities.
