Institutional Research Director directs and oversees institutional research and studies for a university/college. Designs and leads institutional research studies evaluating the effectiveness of the organization's programs and policies.     Job Summary

    Do you have a genuine passion for data and its potential to transform an educational institution? The Director of Institutional Research & Decision Support plays a crucial role at our college, leading efforts to strategically utilize data for informed decision-making. This senior position involves guiding the quality and interpretation of data, and synthesizing it to enhance processes and inform planning. In collaboration with senior leadership, the Director ensures that equitable student outcomes remain a primary focus through comprehensive research and planning. Focusing on leveraging data to create significant value for ACC and integrating principles of equity into research methodologies & data analyses ensuring fair and inclusive outcomes, the strongest candidates will lean into these characteristics:

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution OR four (4) years of experience with data analytics
    • Three (3) years of administrative experience with data science, institutional research, compliance reporting
    • Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in effectively managing a diverse array of functions, programs, and activities simultaneously.
    • Experience with integrated database management systems, data warehouses, dashboard software.
    • Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI and R/Python.
    • Strong Project Management skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with SCT Banner products and IBM COGNOS reporting environment.
    • Experience with accreditation, assessment, program evaluation, and/or compliance reporting.
    • Experience in institutional research methods, practices, measurement, and qualitative methods.
    • Two (2) years of supervisory experience
    • Familiarity with research on college student persistence and success.
    • Project management certification (PMP).

    Physical & Cognitive Demands

    The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.

    • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
    • This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
    • The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
    • Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
    • May require the ability to work out of any ACC campus location.

    Advertised Salary Range

    Salary range for this position is $77,790 - $87,125, commensurate with education and experience. AP 3-45 provides information regarding salary placement and adjustments. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
