Information Technology Supervisor supervises the implementation and administration of information systems and equipment in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Implements internal procedures and guidelines to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Being an Information Technology Supervisor analyzes business needs and recommends IT hardware and software products to support internal business processes. Develops detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications of an organization's IT systems and coordinates and schedules IT initiatives. Additionally, Information Technology Supervisor monitors information systems to ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with organizational needs and standards. Installs and configures an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance. Implements basic security measures to protect systems and data and develops backup strategies and recovery plans. Collaborates with business groups to help utilize information systems to improve operational efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Information Technology Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. IT Support Specialist
Responsibilities:
* Coordinate setup, maintain, and track all technology equipment.
*Manage asset disposition of old equipment. Assist in troubleshooting Tier I and Tier II issues and notification of enterprise problems.
* Help oversee technology onsite including Internet, phone, digital signs, etc.
* Support all AV troubleshooting to include videoconferencing and audioconferencing room systems, projectors, digital screens, and other related equipment.
* Manage ID Card machine, updates, and equipment upgrades.
* Thoroughly document all work completed into the appropriate call-tracking and incident management systems. Documentation includes a clearly defined description of the problem, complete troubleshooting steps, customer communications, equipment asset information and a complete description of the resolution.
* Partner with central ITS groups and acts as a subject matter expert for the Service Desk.
Must Haves:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related area a
* 2 – 4 years of experience
* Experience supporting connectivity, AV, personal computers, OS X and Windows desktops and laptops in an enterprise environment.
* Experience with support software such as SharePoint, and Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft applications as well as a portfolio of software applications for both personal productivity and collaboration.
* ITIL, Mac, and Microsoft product certifications are a plus.
