Information Technology Director directs the implementation and administration of information systems and equipment in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Develops internal procedures and guidelines to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Being an Information Technology Director analyzes high-level business needs and researches new technologies to identify and select IT hardware and software products to support internal business processes. Evaluates methodologies, processes, and specifications of an organization's IT systems to develop an IT strategy and roadmap and ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with organizational needs and standards. Additionally, Information Technology Director plans and designs an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance. Oversees IT projects through their entire lifecycle to ensure completion is on-time and within budget and provides technical guidance to resolve complex issues. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Information Technology Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Sentinel Transportation is seeking a Director, Information Technology to join our team. As a valued member of Sentinel Transportation, a Director, Information Technology Manages all aspects of the information technology within Sentinel, using his/her experience and expertise to purchase, maintain, and improve network architecture and infrastructure, telecommunications, and other technologies within Sentinel. Conducts research regarding best practices within the transportation and related industries in order to develop and implement new technologies that will improve the effectiveness and/or efficiencies of communication, management, and/or operations within Sentinel. Provides onsite technical support to Sentinel’s internal users regarding computer applications and hardware, and works with external contractors to resolve complex service or software problems.
