The Industrial Engineering position focuses on optimizing the interconnected components of a manufacturing system (e.g., plant location, personnel work flow/ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence, and equipment layouts, etc.). A Senior Manager position typically manages a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or team leaders. Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis. This position requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and the ability to communicate and influence executive leadership on a regular basis.

Develops and ensures adoption of short to mid-term strategy/results and execution of functional strategy for the operational direction of the department
Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
Conducts cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods
Assists manufacturing plant/facilities engineers with facility planning and design
May assist in establishing accident prevention measures and manage production operations training programs for plant personnel
Oversees continuous improvement/automation implementation activities
Leverages institutional knowledge for strategy development
Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
