Position Summary
This position is responsible for analyzing, developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing standards, routings processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
Essential Functions- Conduct material flow analysis
- Conduct time and motion studies
- Perform data analysis to support capacity and head count requirements
- Work with other departments to develop production standards
- Update and revise production BOM, Router to reflect accurate standards
- Generate work instructions and SOP’s
- Support implementation of production routers and shop floor control
- Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams
- Support error proofing initiatives
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Support new program implementation and existing program changes
- Adhere to EMS and IATF 16949 Policies and Procedures.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned by the manager
- Ability to understand basic Six Sigma concepts and interpret methodology results.
- Ability to read and write technical specifications and reports.
- Ability to understand mechanical processes.
- Ability to proficiently use various company-related and external systems and databases.
- Ability to proficiently use computer programs such as Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, internal/external personnel, suppliers, and vendors.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to meet time sensitive deadlines, be detail- oriented and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering in the field of Industrial, Mechanical, or Mechatronics.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in manufacturing and/or the automotive industry preferred.
- Must have problem-solving and analytical skills with knowledge of Six Sigma methodology.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and technical writing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Limited travel may be required.

The employee may work near moving mechanical machinery and/or vehicles, and the noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
