Human Resources Director jobs in New York

Human Resources Director plans and oversees human resources functional operations, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers human resources programs and policies to reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Being a Human Resources Director maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Implements an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes and provide data and reporting on HR activity. Additionally, Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Human Resources Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Human Resources Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Regal Heights Rehabilitation and Health Care Center is hiring a Director of Human Resources in Queens, NY.

    DUTIES:

    • Oversee accurate and complete schedules for all departments
    • Coordinate all payroll timecards and issues
    • Processing weekly payroll for all employees
    • Coordinate all employee benefits
    • Ensure the Department of Labor and Department of Health compliance for all new hires including time-clock enrollment, criminal background checks/reference checks/license verification
    • Managing recruitment needs by determining open positions, screening and interviewing applicants
    • Participates in facility management meetings as required
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
    • Handles HR Duties, including employee disciplines (in collaboration with department heads), change in payroll status, terminations, resignations, retirements
    • Ensures compliance with all personnel files and credentialing of staff and providers
    • Other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor


    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must have prior experience in an HR or staffing setting
    • Background or degree in HR strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of human resource administration
    • Inter-personal, organizational and problem-solving skills are required
    • Must have excellent communication skills
