We are a high-volume, small animal general practice that specializes in complete preventative care for optimizing animal health, low-cost emergency surgeries, and accommodating clients from all walks of life. We are a small practice with a staff that is treated with respect and who are compensated accordingly. Currently, we are seeking to find a new Kennel Assistant to add to our family.

The expectations of this position would include patient intake, exam assistance when needed, animal restraint and kennel work, assisting the receptionists when needed, and general hospital upkeep. Compassion for animals, a positive attitude, and willingness to work are daily requirements.

Benefits:

35 hours guaranteed weekly, with possible weekend kennel shifts and 1.5X overtime pay

**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess relevant experience in the field.

**Duties:**

- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and exercising

- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and animal living areas, along with throughout the hospital.

- Monitor the health and well-being of animals

- Handle animals with care and compassion

- Assist veterinary staff with procedures, and upkeep of the treatment area, rooms, and surgery.

- Maintain accurate records of animal intake, behavior, and health

**Experience:**

The following skills and experience are preferred for the Kennel Assistant position:

- Experience in animal care or a related field

- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary

- Knowledge of basic veterinary practices

- Customer service skills for interacting with pet owners

- Understanding of animal behavior and handling

- Previous experience in dog training or pet sitting is a plus
