Additionally, Helper- Brick and Stone Mason relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Pay ranges between $18.00 - $30.00 contingent on experience

- Read and interpret blueprints/drawings to determine the specifications and materials required for a project
- Use straightedges, rules, and staked lines in laying out a foundation or wall pattern
- Mix specified proportions of cement, sand, and water to obtain grout used in fusing stone pieces together
- Lay and align foundation according to set construction plans and specifications
- Cut, shape, and smooth stone materials using appropriate tools
- Set and verify the vertical and horizontal alignment of structures with the aid of levels and plumb bob
- Use tuck pointer to smooth mortar to achieve an attractive finish
- Finish joints according to plan specs
- Carry out repairs on existing masonry
- 3 or more years’ experience in Stone Masonry, Brick Masonry or construction
- Experience working as a Stone Mason or Brick Mason in the landscape industry a plus
- Experience constructing fireplaces and outdoor living spaces preferred
- Able to work successfully with limited supervision
- Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is a plus
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Supervisory responsibilities when applicable
Physical Requirements:- Able to lift more than 50 lbs.
- Able to crouch, bend, climb stairs/ladders for periods of time
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors and in noisy areas for extended periods of time
