Head of Software Quality Assurance establishes and has overall responsibility for the goals, policies, and procedures for the software quality assurance function. Determines the tools, techniques, staffing and methodologies that ensure the efficient release of quality software features and new products. Being a Head of Software Quality Assurance drives continuous improvement activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Head of Software Quality Assurance reports to top management. The Head of Software Quality Assurance manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Head of Software Quality Assurance typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Position Summary
- Ensures that all software is working as intended through rigorous, detailed testing
- Uses standard QA processes to review bugs, test cases, and create documentation
- Identifies testing tasks and estimates for those tasks
- Develops, maintains, and executes test plans for new and existing game themes and operating systems
- Documents, maintains, and tracks the status of all issues in the bug tracking database (JIRA) until issues are resolved
- Communicates with other departments within Social Gaming to prevent issues from arising and corrects existing problems (during the development cycle)
- Provides feedback to promote continuous test improvement
- Works with QA Management and other product development groups to implement new QA processes and improve existing ones
- Reproduces issues, when necessary, to assist software developmers in resolving issues
- Executes projects as assigned
- Mentors junior team members
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree or related field or equivalent relevant experience
- 2 years of professional software testing experience
- Experience with JIRA
- Mobile testing experience is a plus
- QA experience in Social Gaming is a plus
- Software development experience
- Proficient understanding of software test methodologies/procedures and the overall product development lifecycle
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Efficiently regulate and prioritize tasks
- Meet quick deadlines and deliver precise, effective results in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong technical knowledge of computers or troubleshooting computer problems
