Head Nurse - Occupational Health directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Being a Head Nurse - Occupational Health conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Additionally, Head Nurse - Occupational Health coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Occupational Health manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. This position will be located at Midway, in St. Paul.
The primary responsibility of the Employee Occupational Health Nurse Advisor on-call is to independently triage telephone calls from health care workers of Mhealth Fairview regarding Blood and Body fluid exposures and communicapable disease exposures. Utilizes excellent customer service skills and clinical expertise, protocols, and resources to direct or provide appropriate intervention. The schedule may require rotating off premise on call weekdays/weekends.
This position is casual, and will pick up shifts on the evening and/or night shift, as needed by the department.
