Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Industrial typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Position Summary
The Nuclear Occupational Nurse is responsible for providing medical oversight and coordination of Licensed Operators Medical Reviews and occupational health programs in accordance with federal, state and industry regulations. The Nuclear Occupational Nurse is the station professional that supports medical emergencies and case management activities and guides station management with medical advice to prevent adverse medical outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities- Coordinates and implements NRC Operator Medical exams for future and currently licensed operators with the Medical Review Officer in accordance with company and NRC requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for employees.Consult with the Corporate Medical Director or Medical Review Officer as appropriate. Communicate impacts with respective Department Supervision. Provide notification of changes to the appropriate department or as required by the regulator. Complete paperwork for change of conditions including the package documenting these conditions for NRC submittal.
- Coordinate OSHA required activities: Coordinate Department of Transportation (DOT), OSHA physicals (Medical Examinations), and ASME/ANSI exams as required for compliance with working regulations. Coordinate and perform aspects of Medical Assessments to maintain qualified personnel to be able to don respirators in support of normal and emergency working conditions at the nuclear facilities. This work highly emphasized prior to any planned refueling outage at a nuclear site.
- Coordinate other site required medical evaluations:Schedule and conduct vision examinations to support qualification maintenance for nuclear inspectors and testing, Welder inspectors, fuel inspectors. Coordination of employee health services for the station. Respond to Personal Injuries. Coordinate the Hepatitis B Vaccination program in accordance with the Corporate Policy on Blood borne pathogens. Provides site planned outage medical support at the plant.Support outage medical coverage-office hours at the plant and time out in the plant supporting supervision.
Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear power plant is required. Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required. Recent experience in family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care, or hospital setting is preferred. Experience with EKG equipment is preferred Specialization in Occupational Health is preferred. Physical Therapy/Occupation Therapy skills/experience is preferred. Understanding of Nuclear and power plant industry and regulatory requirements / expectations is preferred.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $69,700.00 to $99,100.00 per year
