Golf Superintendent is responsible for overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Oversees continued development of golf course during golf season to improve playing conditions and maintenance of course during off-season. Being a Golf Superintendent manage purchasing, replenishment, and inventory of all materials, supplies, and equipment used to maintain golf course. Liaises with the Head Golf Professional on any issues related to golf course operations and maintenance. Additionally, Golf Superintendent typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Golf Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. The Mt. Kineo Golf Course needs a Clubhouse Associate from late June through early October, 2024. We are located on an island in Moosehead Lake. Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule with rotating shifts: most weekends and holidays, and until 7:00pm a few nights per week during July and August. Duties include operating a cash register, sandwich making and counter service, taking tee times, cleaning golf carts, cleaning the clubhouse, etc. Basically, everything! Must be upbeat, friendly, positive, and able to remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Professional behavior, professional appearance and a sense of humor required. Golf knowledge is helpful but not necessary. You will ride the Kineo Shuttle ferry boat to work and back each day from the Rockwood Public Landing (at no cost to you). 40 - 45 hours per week during July and August, 20 /- hours per week during May, September and October.
