Golf Superintendent - Assistant assists the Superintendent in the overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Supervises personnel and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths. Being a Golf Superintendent - Assistant ensures adherence to golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. May serve in the Superintendent's capacity during absence. Additionally, Golf Superintendent - Assistant may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a golf course superintendent. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. This position will be assigned to the Moose Run Golf Course on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK.
This is a seasonal position Not To Exceed 31-OCT-2024.
This position is also Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.
Performs and assists in the operation and upkeep of the golf course golf pro shop. Provides patrons guidance for selection of equipment and merchandise. Recommends appropriate level of golf instruction to interested patrons, encourages patron interest in scheduled golf events and tournaments. Schedules tee times, golf clinics, lessons and tournaments. Assist patrons with golf club rental, assigns golf carts, sells golf shop merchandise, and processes patron special orders. Instructs and enforces course safety rules and regulations to patrons. Monitors inventory ceiling, recommends merchandise to be sold in golf shop, monitors slow-moving inventories, ensures merchandise levels are maintained, clean and presentable with proper price, receives, logs, and creates merchandise displays. Ensures all fees and sales are entered into the POS register. Responsible for maintaining the golf shop in a neat clean and orderly condition. Operates Point-of-Sale (POS) system, records sales, receives credit card and cash payment for merchandise, greens fees, equipment rentals, and various services, makes change, and wraps or bags merchandise. Performs end of shift cash out, turns in all sales records, money, checks, and credit card slips to supervisor. Performs general housekeeping duties in pro-shop sales and storage areas. Occasionally cleans rental clubs. Ensures only authorized patrons use golf course and its facilities. Performs other related duties as assigned.
