    We are looking for a skilled, resourceful, and collaborative GIS professional with 1-3 years of experience to join the Data Management & Visualization (DM&V) group in our Bedford, New Hampshire location. This position also includes the potential to work remotely within travelling distance from an office. The GIS Analyst will work closely with our DM&V team, engineers, and scientists on challenging and exciting environmental, development, energy, and solid waste projects. This is a fast-paced and dynamic position, with opportunities to be challenged, contribute to project outcomes, interact routinely with project staff, and grow professionally.

    Essential Functions-What You Will Do

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Create compelling maps and graphics using ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
    • Meet with scientists and engineers to define data needs, project requirements, and required outputs.
    • Collaborate with technical staff and identify options for how best the information can be analyzed and visualized.
    • Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including field observation, imagery, sensors, and existing maps.
    • Analyze and present spatial data for geoenvironmental statistics to incorporate into documents, reports, and on-line platforms.
    • Work with EQuIS, R, Python, SQL, and/or Microsoft Power Suite to retrieve, analyze, and present environmental data.
    • Support field staff in the use of ArcGIS Field Maps and other field data collection methods and integrate field data into Sanborn Head’s data management and visualization systems.

    Competencies-What We Are Looking For

    • Candidates must have at least a BS (MS preferred) in geology, environmental science, engineering or another related field and a concentration in geographic information science.
    • At least one year of professional GIS experience including internships.
    • In addition to formal GIS training, the ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and a background in environmental chemistry, geology, hydrogeology, or other environmental science-related topics.
    • Advanced skills in spatial analysis, cartography, databases, mobile mapping, and dashboards are required.
    • Candidates must be proficient with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Microsoft Office.
    • Practical experience with volumetric modeling software such as Earth Volumetric Studio or Leapfrog, programming languages such as R and Python, Adobe Illustrator, and/or Microsoft Power Suite is a plus.
