Additionally, Fraud Detection Associate requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Fraud Detection Associate possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Fraud Detection & Enforcement Specialist

    We are seeking a Fraud Detection & Enforcement Specialist to support the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) Northern District of Indiana (NDIN). Your scope of work includes uncovering and addressing investigations in areas such as healthcare, contracting, grants, as well as other fraud and abuse of federal public funds and programs.

    Responsibilities

    I. Investigations:

    • Conduct independent investigations to generate new cases involving healthcare, contracting, grants, and other fraud
    • Collaborate with the ACE Coordinator to continue ongoing investigations
    • Investigate fraud involving federal public funds and programs
    • Meet semi-annually with designated agency personnel to generate fraud investigations and assess potential cases
    • Use electronic databases to identify, retrieve, and analyze documents and physical evidence relevant to investigations
    • Prepare interim and final reports on the progress and findings of investigations for use by Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) and supervisory attorneys
    • Evaluate the merits and potential for successful collection of assigned cases
    • Provide informed recommendations to the ACE Coordinator
    • Perform ancillary services directly supporting ongoing investigations
    • Ensure thorough and comprehensive case development
    • Comply with established security controls when handling classified or sensitive information

    II. Reporting & Documentation:

    • Maintain high standards of accuracy and completeness in documentation and reporting
    • Adhere to a performance standard of 95% accuracy
    • Prepare weekly activity reports detailing daily tasks completed
    • Deliver weekly reports on program activities to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) or other representatives

    III. Compliance & Coordination:

    • Comply with all federal regulations and USAO policies concerning travel, security, and documentation procedures
    • Coordinate flexible work schedules with the ACE Attorney and Contracting Officer to meet the demands of assigned tasks
    • Travel locally and occasionally for extended periods as required by the performance of investigations
    • Adhere to Federal Travel Regulations and USAO travel policies

    IV. Property & Conduct:

    • Manage government-furnished property and maintain accountability for all provided equipment and materials
    • Ensure professional conduct and adherence to USAO dress code and security protocols
    • Respond promptly to any issues or concerns raised by the COR regarding the quality and timeliness of work

Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time.
