Fleet Administrator assists in administrating and coordinating motor vehicle fleet operations. Understands OSHA, DOT, fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Being a Fleet Administrator prepares and maintains accurate records of vehicles, insurance, and required regulatory filings and reporting. Coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance scheduling that support fleet vehicle availability requirements. Additionally, Fleet Administrator may assist with safety training and communication programs. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fleet Administrator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Overview

    As the Fleet Supervisor with Rhode Island Energy who will be responsible for the daily supervision and organization of assigned Fleet personnel in order to safely, effectively, and efficiently accomplish job tasks in line with departmental and Rhode Island Energy requirements.

    The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for 1-3 garage locations across Rhode Island and up to 15 union shift workers. #RIE

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that the fleet vehicles and garages comply with all appropriate safety regulations and are managed to high safety standards.
    • Coordinate and direct work to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
    • Supervise a union work force at multiple garage locations and participate in union negotiations as needed; travel all locations weekly.
    • Ensure that all work orders are complete and correct.
    • Actively support the company safety goals.
    • Assist in creating new processes and procedures, provide training to employees and develop working leaders.
    • Maintain excellent relationship with clients, union leadership and employees and provide support for clients.
    • Respond to emergency requests.
    • Review and monitor O&M budget.


    Qualifications

    Education

    • High school diploma or GED required.


    Experience

    • Minimum of 5 year experience in Automotive/Fleet- maintenance and repair of medium/ heavy duty trucks, mounted equipment to include utility aerial equipment, light duty vehicles and associated equipment.
    • Demonstrates strong leadership qualities
    • Demonstrates knowledge of hydraulics, aerial devices, and associated equipment.
    • Demonstrates working knowledge of a vehicle maintenance program (preferred FleetFocus)
    • Demonstrates knowledge in MS Office including Excel, Word and Outlook


    Licensure / Other Qualifications

    • CDL license
