The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Program Management and Administration is looking for a Financial Manager (Division Operations Manager) to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What you will be doing:
As the Financial Manager, this individual oversees the financial aspects of the entire department. This includes setting policy direction, supervision, and management related to finances. Incumbent plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial stability and sustainability of DOT&PF by evaluating revenue streams, optimizing costs, and conducting financial forecasting. The position will review and analyze internal financial policies and procedures to align them with departmental goals.

The incumbent serves as a key member of the division’s leadership team. Their insights and decisions impact the overall financial health of the organization. They advise executive staff on financial priorities and policy matters. This involves providing strategic guidance and recommendations to enhance financial efficiency and effectiveness.

The working environment you can expect:
Our office in Juneau is conveniently located at 3.5 mile, next to SEARHC and close to DIPAC Macaulay Salmon Hatchery, a central location with plenty of parking and a view of the channel. This position is available for part-time telework.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of professional experience in the broad occupational fields of the division or department and two years of supervisory and/or managerial experience, which may be concurrent with the professional experience.

Special Note:
"Professional experience in the broad occupational fields of the division or department," means experience in one of the professional areas that compose the division's purpose and function to ensure the applicant has the knowledge of the work of the division to be managed.

For example, in an administrative services division, qualifying professional experience could be in any one of the professional areas that compose business administration; such as accounting, procurement, human resources, and so on.

In a line division, for example the Division of Mining, Land, & Water in the Department of Natural Resources, qualifying experience could be in any one of the professional areas that provide for the use and protection of Alaska's State-owned land and water, such as geology, hydrology, forestry, natural resource management, and so on.
