Financial Reporting Analyst

  • Position Purpose

    This position prepares statutory financial reports and analyses for external filings with regulatory bodies, internal management reporting, board reporting and other stakeholders as needed for each of these areas. Through these duties, the analyst will monitor statutory and industry standards to ensure Hometown Health (the Company) remains compliant with regulatory guidelines. Additionally, the analyst will review, analyze, and report on publicly available statutory financial data filed by competitor organizations and companies. The analyst is an internal consultant and expert regarding statutory financial requirements. The analyst will identify opportunities to streamline statutory reporting work

    papers, ensure accurate and timely filings with state and federal agencies, and provide regular management and board reporting packages. The position will be flexible as to what additional specific duties are performed.

     

     

     

    Nature and Scope

    Responsibilities include:

    • Accurate and timely preparation and submission of all quarterly and annual statutory filings in accordance with Statutory Accounting Principles to support required state, federal and other industry-related regulatory filings

    • Monitor, maintain and utilize applicable software used for statutory reporting

    • Actively identify and complete necessary education and training related to regulatory changes and updates to ensure accurate and compliant reporting by the Company

    • Acts as a liaison to support and assist the annual statutory audit process

    • Acts as the liaison by taking the lead role to support all state and federal inquiries, audits, and statutory exams

    • Provides analysis and reporting to internal management and supports any requested board reporting

    • Identifies and implements process improvements to increase efficiency within the Company and to improve overall customer satisfaction

    • Performs other special projects and assignments on an as needed basis

     

    This position has broad freedom and limited authority to collaborate with the appropriate personnel and within the established guidelines and boundaries provided by leadership to resolve financial issues as they pertain to accurate statutory financial reporting. Decisions that will be referred to the Manager include prioritization of projects assigned, changes in procedures, release of confidential information, and/or other issues that cannot be resolved and need to be escalated appropriately.

     

    This position will have access to proprietary information. This mandates high standards of professionalism, communications, performance, and respect for confidentiality.

    Education:

    Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration or Finance from an accredited college or university or equivalent financial planning and analysis experience required.

    Experience:

    Minimum three to five years in accounting or finance position with progressively challenging experience.

    Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Word.
