Director of Financial Reporting – Metro Detroit, MI

Venteon is currently seeking a Director of Financial Reporting to fill an opening with a growth-oriented healthcare company located in Southeast, MI. Requirements of the Director of Financial Reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA or similar professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial reporting and compliance, with at least 3-5

years in a leadership role, preferably within the healthcare industry.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and auditing standards, including ASC 842.
• Proven experience in managing audits and working with external audit and tax firms.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in managing remote teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders

Responsibilities of the Director of Financial Reporting

• Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, annual, and market-level financial

statements in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory standards. Ensure accurate

and timely reporting to support decision-making processes.

• Ensure full compliance with tax laws and auditing standards, including ASC 842. Stay

abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting the

industry and implement necessary changes in internal processes.

• Work closely with tax and audit firms to ensure all required filings are completed

accurately and on time. Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and

tax advisors.

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of accountants with potential for additional

reports as appropriate. Facilitate remote work while ensuring effective communication

and collaboration. Organize and lead quarterly in-person meetings with the accounting

team at the administrative office.

• Contribute to the company's financial strategy and decision-making process. Provide

strategic recommendations to optimize financial performance and compliance.

• Identify financial risks and implement effective controls to safeguard the company's

assets. Ensure a robust internal control environment to prevent and detect financial

misstatements.

• Communicate complex financial information and compliance issues effectively to

stakeholders, including senior management.

• Provide additional ad hoc reporting with deliverables both within the accounting

department and to the financial planning and analysis department, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to internal reporting requirements.
