Finance Director jobs in Montana
Finance Director directs an organization's financial policies, planning, reporting and controls. Oversees all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, risk, tax, and treasury. Being a Finance Director generally is the second most senior finance executive. Requires a master's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent. Additionally, Finance Director may require the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Typically reports to chief financial officer (CFO). The Finance Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Finance Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Western Montana Mental Health Center’s Director of Finance oversees the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, planning, and investing, in alignment with the organization's mission and values. Responsibilities include developing financial tools, analyzing data for forecasting, preparing budgets, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and audit requirements, and overseeing financial reporting. The Director will also manage fixed assets, coordinate audits, and contribute to quality improvement outcomes. Additionally, they will collaborate with HR on compensation strategies and represent the organization to financial partners.

Minimum Qualifications- Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or a related discipline is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of broad finance experience and supervisory/leadership experience.
- Ability to pass a background check upon offer of employment
- Valid current driver’s license with good driving record.
