Extrusion Operator jobs in New Jersey
Extrusion Operator sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. The Extrusion Operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-1 year of general work experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure product specifications are adhered to at all times and completed
- Setup and operate extrusion lines and ancillary equipment as directed
- Mix resin/masterbatch as required
- Conduct all required Quality Checks accurately and complete the required check sheets
- Perform regular on-line checks for layflat, gels, etc and rectify if able to do so
- Clean extrusion lines according to published schedule or when directed
- Clean work area prior to shift change, including weigh batch
- Carry out process maintenance according to published schedule or when directed
Requirements- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have good attention to detail
- Reliable and strong work ethics
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment checks
- Prior factory and or shift work experience desirable
