Being an Exercise Specialist educates patient and family members on proper techniques for transitioning from a hospital-based fitness program to a safe and effective home exercise program. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in exercise science. Additionally, Exercise Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Who You Are:
As an Exercise Specialist at New England Weight Management Institution, part of Catholic Medical Center (CMC), you'll evaluate and assess patients for exercise tolerance and endurance.
This is a per diem position (on an as needed basis), however preference for Friday's or any other day, Monday through Friday.

What You'll Do:
Conducting thorough assessments of participants' medical history and current physical activity levels.
Designing individualized exercise plans focused on strength and endurance.
Educating patients on heart rate recommendations, self-monitoring techniques, and post-operative walking programs.
Collaborating with the New England Weight Management Institute staff to monitor patient progress and motivation.
Providing ongoing support, resource materials, and lifestyle recommendations to empower patients.
What You'll Bring:
Associates or Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in exercise physiology, exercise science, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 months' related experience required, with two (2) years' experience preferred.
BLS certification is required.
You're skilled in counseling techniques and instructional strategies to effectively educate patients on physical activity.
You possess a solid understanding of exercise physiology and relevant technical skills.
Your enthusiasm and ability to motivate others drive positive outcomes.
