Epidemiologist monitors and investigates known or suspected sources and transmission of communicable diseases. Collects, analysis, and interprets disease data using appropriate statistical and research methods. Being an Epidemiologist reviews sterilization, disinfection and waste control techniques and recommends changes as needed. Develops and coordinates effective and practical interventions and procedures to control and prevent disease in the community or facility. Additionally, Epidemiologist typically requires a master's degree of microbiology. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Epidemiologist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.   • We are currently seeking an epidemiologist to join our Informatics team. This team utilizes informatics techniques to wrangle, mash, analyze, and present methodological data for clinical trial implementation decisions. The epidemiologist would contribute specific expertise to identify patient populations, sites, and/or countries where studies may experience the most success. The epidemiologist would also contribute to team initiatives to structure, query, and present data for feasibility, medical, and operational teams.

    The Informatics Team is a highly collaborative team with members in both the Cincinnati and London offices. This team supports clinical operation, medical, and feasibility teams with advanced data query and analysis. The Informatics Team also works side-by-side business analytics and software engineering to architecture innovative data storage and access solutions for optimal data utilization strategies.     Responsibilities

    • Inform study design based on epidemiological findings that may inform patient, site, and/or country selection;
    • Translate the results of feasibility research and analysis into compelling data visualizations which illustrate the overall feasibility strategy;
    • Perform comprehensive review of data sources to deliver high quality informatics data and analysis to teams;
    • Develop and map database architecture of methodological and clinical data systems;
    • Perform development and review of proposal text;
    • Assist project teams with preparation for bid defense meetings; and
    • Support departmental process improvement initiatives.

    Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in epidemiology, PhD preferred
    • Proficient computer programming skills (preferred language: R)
    • Analytical thinker with great attention to detail;
    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks within tight timelines;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
    • Participate in training and development of more junior team members
