Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     As the Safety Manager & Compliance Officer at our organization, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing safety practices and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies across all aspects of our operations. You will be responsible for conducting safety-related activities, as well as developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs to promote a culture of safety and adherence to ethical standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct Biweekly Toolbox Meetings:
    • Organize and lead biweekly toolbox meetings to discuss safety topics and promote best practices among employees.
    • Facilitate discussions on hazard identification, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.
    • Distribute relevant safety materials and resources to educate employees on regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Perform Safety Compliance Inspections:
    • Conduct weekly job site inspections to monitor compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
    • Identify potential hazards and risks in the work environment and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
    • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Develop and Implement Compliance Policies and Procedures:
    • Collaborate with management to develop and implement compliance policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.
    • Ensure that compliance policies and procedures are communicated effectively to employees and integrated into daily operations.
    • Provide Compliance Training and Education:
    • Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards.
    • Ensure that all employees receive adequate training and resources to fulfill their compliance obligations effectively.
    • Conduct Compliance Audits and Assessments:
    • Plan and conduct compliance audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required to address identified deficiencies.
    • Monitor and Enforce Compliance Standards:
    • Monitor employee activities and business operations to detect and prevent potential compliance violations.
    • Investigate reported incidents of non-compliance and take appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    • Maintain Compliance Records and Documentation:
    • Establish and maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety and compliance activities, including audit reports, training records, and incident investigations.
    • Ensure that all compliance documentation is properly organized, updated, and accessible for internal reviews and external audits.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) preferred.
    • Proven experience in safety management and compliance management, preferably in a regulated industry.
    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and develop practical solutions.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
