Env., Health, and Safety Engineer implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Are you our next Team Member? We are currently seeking a Manager of Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) at our Belle Plaine, SK location. The Manager will negotiate and interface with Federal, Provincial, and local regulatory agencies in support of Mosaic Potash Belle Plaine’s needs and is responsible for managing the site’s EHSS programs. The manager provides technical guidance, regulatory interpretations and strategic advice to minimize EHSS risks and maximize the facility’s performance. What will you be working on? Design and implement EHS strategies to reduce facility risk and ensure that site operation is in compliance with regulatory and Mosaic requirements. This includes the management of engineering consultants, and completion of inspections in order to ensure compliance and to identify unsafe acts and emerging environmental issues. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the site’s EHS department staff and leadership to the site management team on all EHS affairs. Administer and supervise EHS project work, including projects in support of the Potash Business Unit and Mosaic Corporate EHS programs and initiatives. Liaise with Provincial and Federal regulatory bodies as well as internal Mosaic subject matter experts to obtain approval for a broad spectrum of EHS projects and strategies. Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all facility EHS regulatory compliance reports such as NPRI, Environment Canada (Migratory Bird Act, PCB reporting, Greenhouse Gas Reports, Dangerous Occurrence reporting, Decommissioning and Reclamation, Ministry of Environment annual report), etc. What is required for this role? Bachelors of Engineering P. Eng is an asset 7-10 years of relevant Environment, Health and Safety experience Comprehensive knowledge of Provincial and Federal EH&S Acts and Regulations Experience in the generation and implementation of EH&S regulatory compliance programs as they relate to the mining and industrial sectors is required Significant project management experience including experience with regulatory bodies, consultants and other industry representatives concerning a broad spectrum of safety, environmental monitoring, containment systems, and remediation issues Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks including criminal, drug and alcohol testing Must be authorized to work in Canada Mosaic is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values the strength diversity brings to the workplace, and strives to achieve a representative workforce in Canada.
