    About the Role

    Weekender Hotels is looking for an Operations Supervisor for the Aspen at Manchester, in Manchester, VT with a demonstrated history of success in hospitality, people management and guest services. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years in hospitality and some experience in a supervisory or leadership role. This person will report directly to the General Manager of The Aspen and be responsible for supporting the GM in running the day to day operations of the property.

    You’ll love coming to work every day if you get, want, and have the capacity to:

    • Responding to reviews and guest messages on Booking.com, Whistle, and email, and working with the General Manager’s support on answering any tougher questions or reviews as needed.
    • Answering the front desk phone fully during your scheduled shift, assisting guests with reservations or questions
    • Assist with scheduling for housekeeping, laundry and front desk shifts
    • Doing room checks for all check ins, noticing any housekeeping errors, addressing any errors and ensuring each room is ready for check in up to brand standards (this includes adhering to any special requests in the notes on reservations such as extra towels, early check in approvals, etc.)
    • Supporting the General Manager in triaging guest issues and also acting as the area concierge, assisting guests with general questions and knowledge about the hotel and surrounding area.
    • Performing weekly inventory and clearly communicating and requesting supplies to order from the General Manager while keeping inventory of current stock and ordering per the demands of the operation or the go-ahead to use petty to pick up daily supplies.
    • Assisting housekeeping as needed in rooms, by cleaning, stocking or doing whatever else might be necessary to make check in time with the cleans, cleaning on your scheduled housekeeping day, and overseeing quality control of rooms during your shift including room checks managed with PM shift.
    • Alerting the General Manager of any immediate maintenance issues that are not easily fixable by on-property staff and working with having a proper maintenance service come.
    • Assisting General Manager in scheduling annual/biannual maintenance (carpet cleaning, deep cleans, non-emergency repairs) within the PMS and with appropriate staff or service.
    • Taking the phones multiple days per week overnight and being “on call” and answering any inquiries or reservation calls, and potentially coming down to the hotel as needed.
    • Working as a member of the leadership team with the GM and other manager on property, always leading by example and acting with integrity.
    • Learn and embody the Core Values of Weekender, consistently representing the brand both while at work and in the community.

    • Directly impacting the property cleanliness goal of 4.5 on a weekly basis
    • Directly impacting the property guest service goal of 4.5 on a weekly basis

    Note: this isn’t an exhaustive list of roles/responsibilities as an Operations Supervisor.. Furthermore, job duties may change to meet the current demands of the position as the company evolves and grows. Bottomline: we all do a lot of different things around here as a young startup and company, and this would also be expected of you to dive in and take initiative and forge solutions, channels of communication, and project and objective progress.

    Requirements:

    • Ability to work in an inside/outside environment
    • At least 3 years experience in hospitality preferred
    • Attention to detail while being efficient and thorough
    • Team player attitude and mindset
    • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day
    • Bending, reaching, leaning, crawling, crouching, and other movements required frequently when assisting with housekeeping duties
    • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs frequently throughout shift
    • Ability to take work phone home overnight multiple times per week, acting as the “on call” attendant for the property.
    • Excellent guest service and problem solving skills

    Compensation

    • The hourly wage for this position starts at $19.00.
    • Eligible for raises annually based on performance as well as future promotions
    • This hotel operates in a heavily seasonal environment. Hours of work each week may vary between part time and full time.
