Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, relationship-focused Enrollment and Match Support Specialist to provide ongoing support and supervision to our volunteer mentors ("Bigs"), mentees ("Littles"), and their families. This position is also responsible for implementing all screening and enrollment protocols for volunteers, youth and families to determine program eligibility. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, self-manage their work and meet regular benchmarks, as well as collaborate on cross-functional projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct monthly check-ins and provide guidance to Bigs, Littles, and families to ensure child safety and positive mentoring relationships.
• Identify issues or areas of concern within matches and develop plans to provide additional support. Follow mandatory reporter requirements.
• Plan and facilitate training sessions, activities, and match events to educate and engage participants.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation on each match progress, activities, accomplishments, and feedback to meet program standards. Conduct all surveys, goal plans, and exit interviews per their schedule.
• Collaborate with program staff to continuously enhance and streamline program practices and processes.
• Interview and screen volunteers, children and parent/guardians to assess program suitability. Ensure all participants complete required training prior to match process.
• Ensure that all BBBS of America standards for child wellness and safety are met at every stage of the process: enrollment, match making, match support, and match closure.
• Cultivate relationships with school systems to increase referrals for Littles and High School Bigs.
• Lead or participate in outreach activities to raise awareness of BBBS mentoring programs and to recruit volunteer mentors – give presentations, cultivate community partnerships, be involved with community events, etc.

Qualifications and Skills Required to be Successful in This Role:

• A belief in our mission and a commitment to our values of inclusiveness and respect.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, related field, OR an associate degree with 3 years of experience in their field would be an ideal candidate. A person with extensive experience working with youth development programs who meets all the other qualifications and skill requirements would also be an excellent candidate.
• Skilled in relationship building, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
• Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must be comfortable managing interviews with applicants to the program of all ages.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and database applications
• An optimistic personality with the ability to steadily guide volunteers, parent/guardians and youth through the enrollment process and support them during their match.

This is a full-time position with a competitive non-profit salary and benefits package. Limited local travel is required (Cumberland and York County). Salary/Hours:  

32 – 40 hours per week, flexible/hybrid schedule

Nonexempt, Hourly Rate Range based on experience and qualifications: $21 - $25 per hour
