Axient is seeking a Directed Energy Test Manager to support the 704th Test Group's Directed Energy Combined Test Force (DE CTF) at Operating Location AA (OL-AA) at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico.  This customer provides co-located Test and Evaluation (T&E) support for Directed Energy (DE) technology currently under development at the Air Force Research Laboratory Directed Energy (AFRL/RD) Directorate. Situated at Kirtland AFB, the 704 TG/DE CTF serves as a bridge between Research and Development (R&D) and the Test and Evaluation (T&E) community. It can directly support DE technology still under development while accelerating the transition of DE technology from R&D systems to acquisition ready programs.

What you will do...

Provide test management support to directed energy testing programs conducted by the DE CTF, including the following:

• Plan testing efforts at multiple Kirtland locations as well as at WSMR.
• Support an AFTC-directed shift of OL-AA personnel to HELSTF.
• Provide support to the the 704TG as Executing Test Organization (ETO) for the USAF Life Cycle Management Center (LCMC) Directed Energy Prototype campaign to include Phase 2 testing.
• Provide support, in particular, technical writing expertise to the USAF Strategic Development Planning and Experimentation (SDPE) Experiment 1 (counter UAS) effort. Includes possible extended OCONUS deployment for USAF MAJCOM support.
• Serve as technical and test lead for various directed energy evaluation efforts.

Skills you will need...

• A Master’s Degree in a relevant engineering field. Experience for education may be substituted with customer approval.
• A working knowledge of directed energy systems
• Familiarity with high-power laser (HPL) and high-power microwave (HPM) technology
• Ability to work within specific procedures and processes of the Air Force Test Center and DoD regulations and guidelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities
• Dedication to achieving the mission of the DE CTF as well as high standards of quality and excellence in performing duties
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines

• Must have an active and transferrable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level.  Must be able to maintain the required clearance.

• Must be willing to travel up to 10% with possible overseas travel
• US citizenship required
