    Overview

    As the Employee Relations Director, you will be pivotal in fostering productive and positive relationships between managers, employees, and co-workers. You will serve as the subject matter expert on employee relations, providing guidance and support to ensure fair treatment, compliance with company policies and regulations, and alignment with business needs.

    Essential Functions And Work Responsibilities

    Collaborate closely with the Executive Director of People and Employee Relations (EDHR) and HR Business Partners to address complex employee relations issues and mitigate risks.

    Lead the development of training materials and resources to support employee relations initiatives.

    Utilize ER Case Management systems to store and track case notes, providing guidance to HRBPs and monitoring case progress.

    Consult with managers on performance management, leave of absence, and workplace accommodation issues.

    Identify trends and recommend actions to address areas of concern.

    Coach and mentor less experienced staff members in employee relations best practices.

    Liaise with Legal on high-risk or complex issues, ensuring resolution and compliance with legal requirements.

    Lead the creation and refinement of company-wide HR policies, promoting a positive employer-employee relationship.

    Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field; equivalent experience considered.

    Minimum of 10 years' progressive HR experience with 5-7 years of significant ER experience.

    PHR or SHRM-CP certification.

    Experience in labor relations and union environments.

    Exceptional communication, consultation, and influence skills.

    Strong understanding of employment law and company policies.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Advanced degree (MBA, Master's in HR, MPA, etc.).

    SHRM-SCP certification.
