Electrician inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected. Being an Electrician uses a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. Typically requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Electrician typically requires Electrician License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Electrician works under moderate supervision. Position Summary
Demonstrates excellent ability to maintain, install and repair trade specific (electrical, plumbing, or carpentry) Hospital equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient operations for the benefit of patients, visitors, and other employees.
Core Duties
· Installs wiring and electrical systems correctly.
· Inspects, maintains and operates hospital emergency power equipment
· Performs safety tests on all new equipment
· Knows how to interpret schematic wiring.
· Understands Electrical Codes.
· Performs work in a timely manner
· Troubleshoots and determines causes of electrical failures or breakdown of equipment and systems
· Has the ability to work with others and communicate work plans.
· Performs repairs to variety of basic plumbing or electrical fixtures
· Assist other mechanics on jobs requiring specialized experience and knowledge
· Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work environment
Minimum Requirements
· High School Graduate and technical school graduate
· Valid NJ Electrical License or Journeyman
· 5 years experience in related work
· Valid NJ Drivers License
· Familiarity with electrical codes
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints
· Fire alarm and Nurse Call experience preferred
