Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Durable Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk. This role involves handling various administrative and clerical tasks, managing patient information, and assisting with the coordination of durable medical equipment (DME) services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, and assist them with their inquiries.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate department or personnel.
  • Provide information about DME services, insurance coverage, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Relay messages accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for patients needing DME services.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary paperwork and forms.
  • Verify patient insurance information and eligibility for DME services.
• Administrative Tasks:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and files.
  • Process patient intake and registration, ensuring all information is entered correctly into the system.
  • Prepare and manage delivery tickets, orders, and other documentation related to DME.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff, insurance companies, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and setup of equipment.
  • Follow up with patients regarding their DME needs and address any issues or concerns.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including patient follow-up letters.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of office supplies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration or medical office management is a plus.
• Previous experience in a medical office, hospital, or DME setting is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Positive attitude and a team player mindset.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment as needed.
