Digital Design Engineer is responsible for the digital design of integrated circuits and related development. Participates in all phases of physical design including floor planning, clock synthesis, timing optimization and signal integrity. Being a Digital Design Engineer generates functional and design specifications, defines module interfaces, conducts design reviews and participates in design implementation. Requires knowledge of tools such as BIST, Verilog, IDDQ, and IC Design scripting language. Additionally, Digital Design Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. The Digital Design Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. responsibilities:Typical Day in the Role
- Purpose of the Team: The team is responsible for firmware and software development for surface devices, windows drivers development, and integration and build development for the next generation of surface devices
- Key projects: Embedded Firmware and Windows OS Drivers- growing window driver and window capabilities, seeing what system is causing issues and creation resolutions.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 10% meetings, 20% coding, and 70% bug triaging and windows dump analysis.
Candidate Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: 5-7 years of overall experience
- Degrees or certifications required: No specific degree or certification will be required for the role.
- Disqualifiers: Resumes showcasing less than 12 months of remaining access will not be eligible for the role.
- Best vs. Average: The ideal candidate would have Experience debugging on windows, window driver framework, UMDF (user mode device framework).
- Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on feedback from the team and meeting deadlines.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required Years of Experience
1. Minimum 3 years experience with debugging on windows.
2. Minimum 1 year Working experience with debugging hardware/firmware/software interaction during board bring-up
3. Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows Driver Development.
