Dietitian - Home Care conducts assessments of patient/caretaker nutritional needs to implement nutritional care plan complying with the medical diagnosis needs. Plans menus, inspects food to ensure portions adhere to set restrictions and dietary standards. Being a Dietitian - Home Care requires a bachelor's degree. Requires state license to practice. Additionally, Dietitian - Home Care requires Registered Dietitian (RD). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Dietitian - Home Care occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. (RD) Registered Dietitian
Responsibilities (RD) Certified Registered Dietitian:- Conducts comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents, considering their medical conditinos, dietary restriction & individual needs
- Develops and implements individualized meal plans based on the assessed nutritional needs and preferences of residents
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the meal plans, making necessary adjustments as required
- Provides nutrition eduication and counseling to residents, their families and staff
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies related to food safety, sanitation & nutrition
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines related to food safety, sanitation and nutrition
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and staying updated with the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and long term care
- May also be involved in menu planning, food procurement & staff training related to nutrition and dietary requirements
- Other duties as required by Administrator
- RD- Registered Dietitian OR CD- Certified Dietitian experience required
- Ability to work independently or part of a group.
- Previous long term care experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be an (RD) Registered Dietitian OR (CD) Certified Dietitian
- Serv-Safe Certification
- Licensure/Certification/ Registration per state requirements
- Compliant with the state health care worker background check requirements
