Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of staff in a diagnostic imaging department such as nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography or ultrasound. Monitors the adherence to all diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree, certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. General Summary:
Under the direction of the Site Manager, provides professional nursing care within Diagnostic Imaging Services. Professional nurse practices requiring specialized knowledge, judgment and skills are performed consistent with hospital policy, procedure, philosophy and licensure. Provides care for age specific population as listed below.
Required Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Two years of Med/Surg or one year. Critical Care Nursing to include use of pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring equipment, drug administration and monitoring
Basic computer skills
Current State of Delaware licensure as a registered nurse
Current certification in BLS and ACLS
Preferred Education and Experience:
Two years Critical Care Nursing preferred
PALS certification preferred
Special Knowledge, Skills and or Abilities:
Familiarity with many radiology modality technologies
Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
