Cape Henlopen State Park Position: Facility Coordinator

Summary Statement:

This year-round position (29.5 hours per week) will be responsible for overseeing all youth group camping reservations and assisting with weddings and special events. Responsibilities may include meeting with clients and facilitating contract agreements, coordinating communication with Parks staff regarding maintenance and group requests, and marketing the wedding sites to future clients. This position will also assist in managing the seasonal residential dorm on the property.

Job Duties:

• Provide customer services by explaining regulations, answering visitor requests, needs and complaints, and providing information about the park and surrounding areas.
• Coordinate operations, maintenance, administration, and improvement of youth camping facilities.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate youth dorm camping and youth primitive camping reservations
• Assist with special events by setting up meetings, giving tours to potential facility users, answering questions for visitors, etc
• Maintain organized records of rentals, usage activity, special permits issued, and operating costs.
• Maintain good line of communication with management
• Take payments for reservations/Special Use Permits and do end-of-day Reports of Receipts
• Inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment routinely to determine necessity of repairs or maintenance.
• Occasional light cleaning of facilities
• Assists with operations of other facilities, such as the Campground and Park Office, when needed.
• Maintain a positive attitude, be passionate about state parks, and have fun.
• Other duties as required.
• 29.5 hour Schedule: Varied schedule

Qualifications:

• Experience with short-term and/or long-term reservations/facility rentals
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment
• Thorough record keeping and organization skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure and independently
• Knowledge of contract management and control which includes compliance with terms of contracts

Condition of Hire:

• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. DNREC does not provide sponsorship for holders of H-1 B Visas.
• Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Weekends as needed
