Diabetes Educator educates patients on the necessary lifestyle changes involved in a diabetes diagnosis, including nutrition, medication, physical activity and glucose testing. Collects patient data to monitor health status and proactively manage the patient's condition. Being a Diabetes Educator facilitates skill development and behavior modification so that the patient is able to successfully manage the disease. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent. Additionally, Diabetes Educator typically required to be a Certified Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diabetes Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville/Stowe VT, is in search of an Educator to join our team! Under the direction of the CNO, the Education and Employee Health Nurse assumes the role in the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of employee education and training. Acts as a clinical resource, teacher and facilitator for clinical staff regarding patient care and clinical practice. Collaborates with nurse leaders and clinical staff to advance nursing competency and help ensure quality bedside care. Provides immunizations when needed and serves as resource for employees, managers, and senior leadership regarding employee health concerns.
