The Barren River District Health Department serves the residents and visitors of Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson, and Warren counties of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time or part-time MNT Nutritionist I Grade 18 position. This position will be based in Bowling Green, but will serve all eight counties (Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson and Warren).

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Diabetes Population Health Specialist
• Responsible for planning and implementing Diabetes services throughout the 8 county service area.
• The position will receive on the job training to provide the National Diabetes Prevention Program and Diabetes Self-Management and Support.
• This position will work to become a Licensed Diabetes Educator.
• Attend coalition meetings
• Develop relationships with community partners to facilitate referrals to programming
• Work closely with our community health worker to ensure outcomes for clients participating in classes.
• Travel will be required to other counties as needed after training is complete.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

• Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure and Certification as provided in KRS 310.021 or be certified as a Certified Nutritionist (CN) by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure and Certification as provided in KRS 310.031.
• Applicant must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

The minimum hourly wage is $21.52.
