Dean of Law jobs in Connecticut
Dean of Law manages administrative functions of the college of law. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Law leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Law requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Law manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Law typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. We are looking for a motivated and organized part time Law Clerk to join our legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and summarizing educational records, conducting legal research and providing administrative support to the legal team. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for the law. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in gaining experience in the legal field.
Requirements: Must be a current law student or have graduated law school.
Responsibilities:
- Review and summarize educational records
- Edit legal documents
- Draft legal documents
- Occasionally assist in drafting legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for meetings.
- Provide administrative support to the attorney, such as filing documents with the court.
- Organize and maintain case files.
- Opportunity to observe proceedings
