General Summary:

The Procurement Director is responsible for establishing a procurement function within and across Data Axle. The position will be directly responsible for managing large vendor pricing and renewal negotiations, developing vendor management protocols and practices while working to develop a procurement mindset and culture across the company. It will start as an individual contributor but will have the opportunity to build an organization over time and/or indirectly influence individuals that manage large vendors and our large areas of spend in the company.

Essential Job Functions:

• Facilitate procurement of necessary items at lowest cost consistent with approved quality and delivery standards.
• Create and implement improvements to the overall purchasing process, including contract management instructions and procedures.
• Develop and maintain departmental and supplier relationships.
• Locate and interview vendors to determine availability of products and terms of sales.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to Company policies and procedures.
• Resolve vendor grievances and claims against suppliers.
• Work with Treasury to maximize cash flow.
• Responsible for responding to the requirements of Auditors and regulatory agencies.

• Knowledge of purchasing principles.
• Must be a team player.
• Must be able to multi-task to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to use MS Word, Outlook, Creative Suite applications, and Internet.
• Ability to manage large projects and indirectly influence/manage stakeholders outside of direct scope.

Education, Experience, and Certification:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7-10 years previous relevant work experience is required.
• Procurement experience in a data and data based and/or agency environment including managing print production vendors.
• Experience managing technology and cloud-based vendors.
