Curriculum Specialist designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. - Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Verify insurance coverage and collect co-pays or payments
- Assist with medical billing and coding as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers
- Manage medical office supplies and inventory

- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance billing processes
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- High school diploma or equivalent
